The CryoPort family of bio-shippers currently consists of three specific
use shippers: AR1000 (Animal Reproduction), DS650 (Diagnostic Specimens)
and DG1000 (Dangerous Goods). The outer casing of the bio-shipper is a
light weight, high impact resistant plastic; the material storage well
(2.8- inch diameter) is enclosed in a metal cryogenic dewar flask with a
very high vacuum (10-6 Torr) with an advanced absorbent in the inner
dewar vessel which holds the liquid nitrogen (LN2) and provides the
required cryogenic temperatures. The absorbent further minimizes the
boil-off (evaporation) of the liquid nitrogen. These bio-shippers are
reusable and can be used over multiple years.
